Join Local Family Charity, DorPIP, On the Run for FUN

Local Dorset charity, DorPIP is preparing for the Bournemouth 5K Inflatable Fun Run. DorPIP’s services are essential to helping families flourish. Through the recent lockdowns, families have found their services invaluable. The run takes place at Somerly House on Saturday, 17th of April an looking for FUNdraisers.

If you would like to raise money for this fantastic local charity, get in touch [email protected].

The world's biggest inflatable fun run will take place at Somerley House, Ringwood.

Community fundraising has been on hold for over 12 months now, so this event is not only essential for raising much needed funds, but also a celebration of the easing of restrictions. DorPIP has supported many families during the lockdown. One service user recently said;  “Having regular support has allowed me to focus on the positives. Being a new mother is scary enough, but the pandemic stripped me of my key support groups, DorPIP restored that support”

You can either donate or take part in the run fun yourself to help raise awareness for DorPIP as well as raising money.

The fun run is 5K and has a whopping 28 giant inflatables! It also consists of a giant foam zone, which is powered by the world's largest foam cannon. You can run, walk or giggle your way around the 2.5K lap twice. After a lockdown in winter, this is promising to be a very fun day out for all involved.

Why not get out to have some fun this April, whilst raising money for a fantastic local charity? DorPIP is a charity that supports struggling parents with children under the age of two years old.

“At DorPIP we work with parents and their babies over a series of one-to-one sessions, helping them understand and work through some of their worries and concerns. In taking the time to think about feelings, and finding ways to communicate and enjoy each other, we aim to help families flourish.”

Notes to Editors:

About DorPip  - DorPip (Dorset Infant Parent Partnership) is a local charity based in Dorset whose aim is to support parents in developing a healthy and secure attachment between themselves and their baby, creating a secure base for infants as they grow. The first 1001 days of a child’s life is a crucial window of opportunity where experiences and behaviours towards them will impact outcomes throughout their lifetime, effecting their cognitive and emotional development.

DorPIP uses a network of specialist therapists, trained in working in parent infant relationships from conception to aged two. The service is for anyone who is struggling with the transition to parenthood and how this may have affected the family relationship dynamics. That relationship might be parent and child, or parent and parent which in turn affects the child and the child’s mental wellbeing.
