Child Health and Wellbeing Resources

The resources on the Healthier Together website have been developed in partnership between parents and healthcare professionals from across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. You'll find clear information on common childhood illnesses, including advice on what 'red-flag' signs to look out for and where to seek help if required.

Remember, it can take a while to feel confident about breastfeeding, and you're not alone. Your midwife and health visitor are there to help, guide and support you. There's also lots of advice available online or via support groups, helplines and websites. For information and advice about breastfeeding and introducing solids visit the NHS's website, Start4life.

Visit the Institute of Health Visiting's top tips for parents, to find expert advice on key areas of looking after your new baby, from when they are born to when they go to school. Written by experts, they cover topics such as feeding, health, behaviour and development, and are based on up-to-date research and the experience and knowledge of real-life health visitors working across the UK.

The Baby Buddy App is the NHS's interactive pregnancy and parenting guide. It provides trusted, evidence-based information and self-care tools to help you build your knowledge and confidence during the transition to parenthood and throughout the early stages of parenting. Fun and engaging interactive features means you learn without the burn.
