After semi retiring from working for many years as a Child Psychotherapist in community CAMHS I am pleased to be able to join DorPIP and work with families with babies and young children. I know from my experience in CAMHS the importance of establishing healthy parent infant relationships, starting in pregnancy and continuing in the early days and months of a baby's life. These early healthy relationships continue to have a positive impact for children and young people into adult life.
Having a baby is a time of great joy but often a stressful and anxiety provoking time for most parents. I share DorPIP's vision that therapeutic support through groups and individual work can help many parents establish a healthy relationship with their baby and healthy relationships in the family.
In addition, I continue to teach on infant observation courses and perinatal courses through the NHS.
