I am a Freelance Trainer, with a specific interest in families, neurodiversity and mental health.
My professional journey into this work commenced in the mid 90s when I trained and qualified as a Counsellor. Following on from that I trained in many aspects of Mental Health, Personal Development, Family work, parenting programmes and neurodiversity in children. I have delivered training and gained experience across a broad spectrum. These include Young Offenders Institutions, Male Prisons, Community Development Projects, Schools, The Princes’ Trust and Local Government Children and Family Services. I am a member of the Training Team at Dorset Mind, delivering many of their corporate progammes.
Much of my professional and private work is centred around supporting Parents and Families. I am an Accredited Facilitator of a range of Parenting and Family Programmes and am a NLP Master Practitioner.
I am passionate about working with people, encouraging them to develop, grow and achieve their potential.
In my leisure time I enjoy walking, cycling, gardening, travelling the world, music concerts, dancing, sewing, knitting, up-cycling furniture, baking and cooking. Future goals include reconnecting with a love of horse-riding, kayaking and travelling to India. I am a member of many social, community and fund raising groups and have been known to do some exciting things in the name of fundraising such as escaping from a police cell and travelling as far away as possible in 24 hours by any means possible....this included a military helicopter!
Quirky fact(s) –
I speak Welsh badly.
I once took afternoon tea with Prince Charles (now King Charles) at Buckingham Palace.
